The Launch recap; season 2 episode 5.

**WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD**

On this episode, "Don't Say You Love Me" was the song to be launched. The song was produced by the iconic, Bryan Adams, who was also a celebrity mentor. Along with Adams, Scott Borchetta, Marie-Mai were also celebrity mentors on this episode. 5 Canadian artists performed in front of them, with the hopes of being launched.

The folk artist, from Quebec City, Quebec, introduced herself and her musical story by telling the story of when her dad and herself went fishing; Jordane thought that singing to the fish would help them go towards Jordane and her father, and he loved her voice. She sang "House of the Rising Sun/le Pénitencier" by the Animals and Johnny Hallyday, which really impressed the mentors, because the song's in english and french.

From Vancouver, British Colombia, the five-piece band sang their own original song, "Unholy". Their performance amazed the mentors, by their passion for music and energry while performing.

Maddie, the singer/songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta, performed "Angel from Montgomery" by John Prine. Then, Bryan Adams realized that their voices would sound great together, so he offered to sing with her, and he was right! Their voices are amazing together.

The talented Ben Cottrill, won the mentors' hearts with his musical story and his voice. He sang "Mercy by Shawn Mendes, and killed it. The artist from Vancouver, British Colombia, has a unique and lovely voice, as I said before, which you'll fall in love with.

The fairly new artist, from Toronto, Ontario, opens up about his alcohol problems, and how he's overcame them, which is super brave of him (and congrats to that!). He auditions with his original song, "Empty Glass", and the mentors feel the pain through the song, and really appreciate it.

The two artists that were chosen to create their own version of "Don't Say You Love Me" were Maddie and Nate. The mentors had a very hard decision on their chests, but they got through it and made the decision!

Both the artists went in the studio with Bryan Adams, then performed their own version of the song in front of the mentors and a crowd.

Maddie Storvold was chosen to be launched! Congrats girl!! Also, huge shoutout to Nate Daviau, for making it that far, and the rest of the artists featured on this episode - you all did great jobs!
