Since 2018 is coming to an end, I decided to list 15 albums from this year that I thought were so incredibly amazing and deserve to be talked more about. This year was a great year music wise!! If you'd like to listen to the albums on this list, just press the pictures on the albums, I put the link there! Here's the 15 best albums (or EPs) of the year, not in order because they're all just too good!

  • Youngblood by 5 Seconds of Summer

After a little break, 5 Seconds of Summer released their first single off the album; Want You Back in February. The single got great feedback and was even on the Billboard Hot 100

Charts, and peaked at #61 in March. Then, in May, their title track; Youngblood, was released. The song was even more of a success, it peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts and stayed there for 26 weeks. The album was later then released on June 15th of 2018, and the deluxe version of the album contains 16 songs, including the hit singles; Youngblood and Want You Back. The 16 songs on the album will definitely make you dance, but also give you a good cry. It was definitely worth the wait!

  • People to People by DNCE

The four piece band, formed by Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee, and Cole Whittle, released this four-song EP on June 15th of 2018. Days before the release, DNCE teased

the EP on their Instagram, with videos explaining what the songs were about; from breakups, to falling in love with someone. The band wanted to show their serious side of music with People To People, and by doing that, they created four songs that are catchy, yet meaningful, which I think is amazing.

  • Love is Dead by CHVRCHES

The three piece synth-pop band from Glasgow, Scotland, formed by Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook, and Martin Doherty, released the first single off the album; Get Out, on January 31st.

What a great way to start the new year! The band later released the second single; Miracle, on April 10th. Both the songs are so catchy and the electronic beats will keep you dancing. Then, CHVRCHES released the album on May 25th. This is their fourth album and it contains 13 songs, including an interlude (ii ). Love is Dead peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts on June 9th and stayed on the chart for 2 weeks.

  • Intuition by Tyler Shaw

Tyler was raised in British Colombia, and auditioned for the Coca-Cola MuchMusic Covers Contest in 2012. He made it all the way to the Top 3! He later released his debut studio

album; Yesterday. The album had many dance-worthy hits, such as it Happens All the Time, House of Cards, and Kiss Goodnight. Tyler later released his first single off the album; Cautious, on January 26th. The single got many radio plays, and it seemed like many people loved it! It is a great song anyway. He then released Anybody Out There and With You. Intuition was later released on September 28th. The album contains amazing and heartfelt 11 songs, that will definitely make you love him even more than you did before, if that's even possible.

  • Finding it Hard to Smile by Lovelytheband

The three piece indie pop band from Los Angeles is formed by Mitchy Collins, Jordan Greenwald, and Sam Price. The first single off of the album is Broken, which was on the

It contains 10 songs, from bops like Plum and Lucky Strike, to slow and beautiful songs like the Good Side and Postcard. The album even comes with a song featuring one of Troye's close friends; Ariana Grande (Dance to This). So basically, if you haven't listened to this album yet, do yourselves a favor and listen to it!

  • Aurora by Bea Miller

This album is a compilation of songs from three of her past EPs, which were known as "chapters" to tease the full length album; Blue, Red, and Yellow. Each EP contained three

of the songs that would be on the album. I personally love how creative that idea is, I've never seen an artist to that and I think it's genius. The full length album was released on February 23rd 2018, and it was highly anticipated by her fans and people around the world. The album goes from songs about loving yourself, to songs about feeling like you're suffocating.

  • Almost Real by Dylan Gardner

The American singer-songwriter; Dylan Gardner makes some amazing pop rock songs. Almost Real is his second album and he did not disappoint! It contains his first single off

the album; I Want It Like That, a song that has lots of guitar and drums, that will absolutely make you feel like dancing!

The album was released on April 6th of 2018, and contains 11 catchy songs. Dylan actually designed and drew the little designs on the album himself! Listen to his music before he gets too big, your ears will thank you.

  • Afraid of the Dark by EZI

Esther Zynn, also known as EZI, is an American singer and songwriter from New York. She was the first artist to be signed to Steve Madden's 5Towns Records Label, and she'll be

taking over the world soon enough. The first single off of the EP was Redemption and it was released on June 16th of 2017, a song with a catchy beat and lovely vocals, and lyrics. The second single off the EP was DaNcing in a RoOm, and was released on September 22nd of 2017. "Wrote this, hungover the day after dancing the night away at a cheesy club with friends, realizing I feel the most free when I feel like I'm dancing alone. Hope it helps you lose yourself a little", EZI explains on an Instagram post. Then came the title track; Afraid of the Dark, released on November 10th of 2017. The whole EP was released on January 12th of 2018, containing the three singles and two other songs; SoBer with YoU and Anxious., was then released on January 12th of 2018. The whole album is about "a summary of all the thoughts and emotions I've been experiencing this past year condensed into 5 songs". There isn't one bad song on this EP, the whole EP deserves more recognition. She will become your new favourite singer.

  • Control Freak by Monowhales

Monowhales is a four piece indie pop/rock band, formed by Sally Shaar, Holly Jamieson, Zach Zanardo, and Jordan Circosta, from Toronto. They used to be called Ginger Ale & the

Monowhales, but then switched their band name to just Monowhales. Then, came Real Love on April 17th of 2018, as well as the amazing music video for it. They later released the full EP on June 1st 2018, including the two singles and four other songs; Alive Now, Let it Go, Two Hearts, and Wrong Way. The album is a good song, after a good song - it will make you wanting more (that was a Real Love pun, you'll only get it if you're a Monowhales fan).

  • OO WHOA by Hundred Handed

Hundred Handed two piece pop/alternative band, formed by Jordan McGraw (singer) and Drew Langan (drummer). They firstly released Too Good as the first single off the EP, on

November 18th of 2017. The music video for the first single has over 70 000 views and it's such a catchy song. The band later released their first full length EP on February 9th of 2018, containing Too Good and 5 other very catchy and upbeat songs.

OO WHOA is an EP to listen to if you ever feel like dancing, it'll for sure get the dance moves out of you.

  • To Be the Little Fish by Josie Dunne

Josie Dunne is a pop singer/songwriter from Illinois. She's extremely talented and has the voice of an angel. She started playing shows at age 13, all around Chicago, at any local

event there was. Now, she's selling out shows across America and has even written a song for Kelly Clarkson! To Be the Little Fish is Josie's debut EP and it was released on June 1st of 2018, it contains 6 songs, some upbeat (like Good Boys and Make You Mine) and a slow song (Saying Goodbye). What I love about the EP is that there isn't one bad song, whenever I listen to the whole EP, I never end up skipping a song. All the songs on it are just so unique and so beautiful.

  • Homemade by Matthew Chaim

Matthew Chaim is a pop/R&B singer and songwriter from Montreal, QC. Homemade is Matthew's debut EP and it's a literal masterpiece. He previously released Focus, Vanilla

Ways, Crash, Nobody But You (which is on the actual CD) and the title track; Homemade, before the release of the EP. He released the six-song EP on June 15th of 2018. The last song on the EP, Visit You, is about the passing of Matthew's father - it would be a lie to say that I don't cry each time I listen to it, it's such a beautiful song with a beautiful meaning behind it. My personal favorite is Passion Soda, because personally it means so much to me and has gotten me through some hard times. This EP deserves way more recognition than it already has, Matthew Chaim does too. As said in an interview with him, " The best version of you, just like the best food, is always homemade."

  • Insane by Michelle Treacy

You might already know her without knowing it. She performed on stage with Lady Gaga at her show in Montreal, in 2014. Let me tell you, she deserved that so much. Then, on June

24th of 2016, she released her hit single; Armageddon and was on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts! Michelle released her debut EP; Insane on July 20th of 2018, and it really was an album of the summer. She made a studio version of her live session; I've Got you all Over Me, (Over Me), and even made a cover of ABBA's hit song; Take a Chance on Me and made the song even more amazing. The EP is basically a compilation of bops.

  • Sad Girls by MILKK

MILKK is a three piece indie/alternative band from Nashville, TN, formed by Pat Kiloran, Jack Vondracheck, and John Ogelby. The band really blew up this year, from their first

single; IDWK, to many more amazing singles. MILKK released this EP on March 28th of 2018 and got really great feedback. The EP contains many singles from the band that were released before, except the title track; Sad Girls. The song has a catchy beat and will definitely make you dance and maybe even relate to the lyrics, which is really a win-win situation.
